WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND
PROJECT TITLE
A jacket design for Tom Waits single, called Whistle Down the Wind, from his dark junkyard masterpiece, Bone Machine album.
DESCRIPTION
The design shows an anthropomorphic illustration of a kite trying to pull its string free, which reflects the message of the song about a person’s fear of taking a gamble and failing kept him in one spot, and, ironically, left him with that dreadful feeling that the true failure was in staying behind and playing it safe.
