READING BETWEEN THE STRIPES
PROJECT TITLE
Book design for the guidebook, The United States Constitution, What It Says, What It Means to commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Annenberg Public Policy Center.
DESCRIPTION
The guidebook, managed by Annenbergclassroom.com, is an interactive website resource for contents related to Constitution and the courts. It was originally published in 2005, and had been providing people with information about the roles, rights of being citizen in the community. The featured spread is about the 19th amendment, which covers the women’s voting rights. The gender gap and the underrepresentation of women as voters can be shown through playing with the spacing of type, using visual references of a woman’s face that shows each parts and pieces in a collage style, and making repetitions of her mouth, which represents finding one’s voice.
